Liturgical Ministers

All parishioners are welcome and encouraged to join one of our Liturgical Ministries.

Reader/Lector

Proclaim the Word of God clearly and understandably at weekend, Holy Day, and daily Masses. Contact Maggie Nosbusch or the church office for more information.

Greeter / Usher

Being a welcoming community is very important. Ushers are the first face of the parish. They greet those coming into our church, assist those in need, distribute parish bulletins, take up the collection, and distribute other materials as needed. Ushers are needed at weekend and holy days of obligation Masses. Contact John Quinlivan or the church office for more information.

Choir

Choir members meet 30 minutes before weekend Masses to review and practice the music for that day. Our organist comes from Asheville so we don't have practice during the week. If you are interested please call Jim DeMange or the church office.

Prayer Blanket Ministry

The Prayer Blanket Ministry at St. Jude began in 2009. It is composed of women who gather together to make blankets and pray for anyone who is in need of love, comfort, support and prayers.

Membership in this ministry does not require a knowledge of sewing or crocheting, we just tie knots! The only requirement for membership is a dedication to prayer and a few hours each month to make the blankets and pray. During the summer season, meetings are held twice a month. During the winter, only once a month.

If you are interested in this ministry, please contact the church office or check the bulletin for time and place. New members are ALWAYS welcome!

Ladies of St. Jude

The Ladies of St Jude are a group of parishioners that support the parish in their spiritual growth & outreach programs, assist with funerals, care for the sick and organize social and fellowship programs.

They meet from March-November on the 2nd Tuesday of the month in the parish hall at 10 am.

For more information, please contact the church office.

The St. Francis Xavier Council 16442 of St. Jude was formed on April 17, 2016.

For more information, please contact Grand Knight Bob Martin or visit: https://www.kofc.org/en/who-we-are/our-story/index.html.

Our Mission

We are Catholic men building a bridge back to faith. There is much good and necessary work to be done in this world, and that’s what Knights do every day.

Our History & Heritage

Founded on the principles of Charity, Unity and Fraternity, the Knights of Columbus was established in 1882 by Father Michael J. McGivney, assistant pastor of St. Mary’s Church in New Haven, Conn., and a group of parishioners. Their intent? To bring financial aid and assistance to the sick, disabled and needy members and their families.

Today, Father McGivney is being considered for sainthood. Please visit https://www.kofc.org/en/who-we-are/our-story/index.html
